It's relatively rare that a product comes along that impresses me not only in its usefulness, but its shear simplicity.

At first glance, the Modl Infinity Tool is "just a silicone rubber band"... but give your brain some time and soon you'll be coming up with endless uses for this thing.

I've personally used it as:

  • a strap to carry my chair while at NW Mountain Challenge
  • a sling to carry my bow while hunting elk in Idaho
  • endless versions of strapping gear to my pack that I want quick access to
  • a way to down gear in my truck that I don't want moving around

The true genius of this product is in its modularity and variety of connectors. Mix and match two lengths of modular straps with 7 different types of studs for (almost) endless combinations of utility.

  • Size Constraints: The 8-inch straps may be too short for some applications, limiting their versatility for larger items.

My Thoughts

This product definitely gets a BUY recommendation from me. I keep a set of these in my hunting pack at all times and another set in the truck. I'll continue to stock up as Modl releases new accessories and stud types as well... it's that good.

If I have to nitpick and identify one area for improvement I'd say that I would love to see a heavy duty version. While you can wrap the existing straps to double strength, that is not always a practical solution. It would be great to have a full-length strap that is capable of holding 100+ lbs.

To get started, I recommend going with the Loop Your Life bundle. That will get you set up with:

  • 12 Infinity Tools Total:
    • 6 of your color choice (2 short, 4 long)
    • 6 Black (2 short, 4 long)
  • 4 HookStuds
  • 4 StackStuds
  • 1 MODL Pouch (to keep everything together)

From there, you can expand with extra straps and studs.

Even if you can't think of an immediate use today, I guarantee you with the Modl Infinity Tool in your pack it will come in clutch when you need it!.
